10-year-old among talented goal aces making their mark in thrilling youth league fixtures

STAR striker Scarlett Mitchell was one of many shining young footballers to leave their mark on the Regent’s Park Youth League on Saturday.
Bagging herself a brace, the Kentish Town FC captain helped her team beat London Soccer Stars (LSS) in the final of the Under-12s 7v7 A Cup. There was also an own goal in the mix as Kentish Town won 3-0.
Scarlett, aged 10, was also instrumental in the team’s 3-1 win against Northwest Academy in the semi-finals after netting a hat-trick.

Head coach of Kentish Town, Thomas Looney, said: “With the top scorer being the only girl in the team, Scarlett is unplayable at times and a complete striker.
“This special group of players deserve a lot of credit, winning a cup playing a year up is not easy.”
Kentish Town were also crowned champions of the Under-13s Red League, finishing the season with an impressive record of 11 wins and just one defeat.

Inspired by two stunning free-kicks from Ed Bullman, Islington-based LSS overcame Queen’s Park Tiger Sharks 2-0 in the final of the Under-12s 9v9 A1 Cup to be crowned champions.
The previous Saturday, United Dragons were made to dig deep against Priory Park FC in the Under-11s C2 Cup final.

After ending 1-1 in normal time, the Dragons won a nail-biting penalty shootout 4-3, with Ambroise Meyfret scoring the deciding spot-kick.
In the Under-11s C1 Cup, Leo Baker scored the only goal as Queen’s Park Shady Sharks beat Primrose Hill 1-0.

In the Under-15s age group Primrose Hill lifted the B Cup following a 3-0 victory against Canada Blanch. Adam Canty, Leon White and Charlie Henry were all able to grab a goal each.
